When Prince Charming Solves Everything — Except Himself.
Disney has always loved a good story where a woman’s life magically improves the second a big, strong man shows up. Maybe Disney was onto something — except once all her problems are solved, the only thing left to deal with is… the big, strong man.
For generations, Disney movies have pushed the idea that women need a knight in shining armor to save the day. Think about it — Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Ariel hang around waiting for a prince to show up and make everything better. Not exactly the best life advice. These stories have shaped how we view relationships, making it seem like a happy ending is only possible if there’s a guy in the picture.
But thankfully, times have changed! Disney’s newer leading ladies — Mulan, Elsa, Merida, Raya — aren’t sitting around waiting for Prince Charming. They’ve got things to do! Whether saving China, ruling a kingdom, or proving their strength, these women show that personal goals and self-worth matter as much as romance (if not more!).
Love is great, but it shouldn’t mean giving up your dreams. It’s time to leave old-fashioned stereotypes behind and embrace the idea that happiness isn’t a one-size-fits-all fairytale. So whether you find true love or a great hobby, make sure you’re writing your story.
