Quarter-Life Crisis or Just a Plot Twist? Figuring It Out One Day at a Time.

I turned 23 and decided to get myself a cake that said, “Enjoy your quarter-life crisis.” At the time, it was just a joke. It turns out the joke was on me because, well… here I am, smack in the middle, wondering what I’m supposed to do with my life.

Feeling lost and looking for a sign one night, I randomly put on a Disney movie — Soul. I wasn’t expecting that a film could hit me hard. It reminded me that life isn’t just about chasing some significant, grand purpose or hitting certain milestones. Sometimes, it’s just about appreciating the little things — the simple joys, the everyday moments that make life worth living.

Did Soul magically solve my quarter-life crisis? Nope. I still don’t have everything figured out, and that’s okay. Instead of stressing over not having a perfect life plan by 25, I decided to lean into the uncertainty. Maybe this weird in-between phase isn’t something to fear — it’s an opportunity. It is a chance to try new things, grow, and figure out what excites me.

So, instead of comparing myself to people who seem to have it all together (thanks to social media), I started taking small steps — exploring new hobbies, meeting interesting people, and doing things that bring me joy. This “crisis” is just a free pass to redefine what I want from life on my terms.

Honestly, life isn’t some perfectly mapped-out road trip. The road I am on is where people get shortcuts, wrong turns, or get lost entirely, but somehow, people can meet the best surprises in a way that I couldn’t even imagine.

Navigating through the twenties phase, such as trying to do stuff in chaos and dark. It feels like the giant monster in front of you is trying to eat you alive. So you are trying everything to make a light and make the monster in your head disappear. You don’t always have all the answers yet, but you’re doing something that makes you learn and gives you light somehow; I’ll end up exactly where I’m meant to be.
